Andrew Joseph Martorano
In Loving Memory
Andrew,
I know almost no one called you by your first name. The first time I did, it made you smile. To this day you will always be remembered as AJ to most, Andrew to a few, and Dad to your one and only Alexandra.
You were A jack of many trades, but a master of one: love.
Love for his daughter.
Love for a Nathan’s hot dog right off the stand in New York.
Love for Braciole (even when we forgot to bring it over).
Love for leaving very long voicemails with the date and time LOL
His Yankees.
His music.
The Cello he could never quite play.
And finally, his love for Kit, the sweet boy we will care for; a piece of Andrew living on with us, a daily reminder of his heart.
I have never witnessed a greater love for a daughter than the one Andrew had. Over the past few years, I was lucky enough to experience that love as if he were my own father. Through everything, one truth was undeniable; he loved his daughter completely, wholeheartedly, and without question.
We shared many lunch dates, hurricane parties, doctor’s appointments, sushi, Christmas Tree museums, the occasional dead guy in the Steak ’n Shake parking lot,
And of course… that thing we only did on Easter.
Andrew was funny, stubborn, deeply loving, and unforgettable. He acted up, he cared loudly, and he loved fully. That love is his legacy, and it’s something that will never, ever be forgotten.
Love Brutus #1 and #2
