In Loving Memory

Brandon Dean Harris, 26, passed away tragically of brain aneurysm on March 26, 2026, at his home in Sherwood, Oregon.

Brandon was born on September 21, 1999, in Coos Bay, Oregon to Adam I and Jimi Harris. He is survived by his parents, grandmother, uncles & aunts, his older brother Adam II (Kaydee) Harris, his niece Reese, and his beloved fiancé Lauren Best, whom he was set to marry in August.

Brandon and Lauren lived in Sherwood, Oregon, going to picnics in the park, hiking, playing games, watching movies, and celebrating family birthdays and holidays together.   Lauren has become a loving member of our family and will always be.

Brandon grew up in Longview, WA and graduated from RA Long high school in 2018. After high school Brandon attended Portland State University majoring in Physics.

Brandon showed a strong sense of self from a very young age, never interested in doing what was popular/cool even as a teenager, just always unapologetically himself.  He did not want to be anyone else but himself ever.   He was always down for an adventure with his brother Adam riding bikes, scooters, skateboards, exploring the neighborhood and new cities together, and going to concerts.

A quote from one of Brandon’s favorite movies, Big Fish, “I’ve never been nothing but myself since the day I was born and if you can’t see that, it’s your failing not mine”

Brandon loved being in the water.  Whether or not we had a towel, blanket, or extra clothes in the vehicle, Brandon was going to swim wherever we drove.  Long Beach or Astoria in November, Coos Bay any time of year in the rivers and ocean, or a drive back from a family trip where everyone was in a hurry to get home, he was always going to find a place to swim.  He said “when am I going to be here again? I’m here, I’m swimming.”

Brandon will forever be missed by his family. He has brought so much joy to all of us with his sense of humor, views on the world, and his beautiful kind soul.

We will be celebrating Brandon’s life this summer at Coldwater Lake with a small gathering.  We will contact friends and family directly with date and time.
