Catherine Louise Santini
In Loving Memory
Catherine (Cathy) Louise Santini
After a long illness, Cathy passed away on Saturday August 29th at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital where she received excellent care. She was born on October 16th, 1956. From riding horses to grinding coffee, Cathy strove for excellence. A graduate of Wamogo High School, Cathy loved competing in horse events from a very early age. Her love for horses and other animals led her to seek work where she could be around them, choosing farm work or assisting a veterinarian as her employment. She also worked as the lead roaster at a start-up coffee company. At home she would adopt and care for sick or injured dogs. Her healing instincts were not limited to pets. She actively participated in the care for one of her siblings during a long illness, by chauffeuring to appointments and bringing food. After an injury she chose to seek less physical work. Because of her commitment to their mission, she chose Mountainside, an addiction treatment center, as her last employment. She is predeceased by her father, Frank J. Santini and mother Nancy Twining Vreeland. She is survived by her sisters Rebecca Hearn, Kim Cullerton, and her brothers Gary Santini and Keith Cullerton, 9 nieces and nephews and 3 grand nieces. A memorial service will be private. Please contribute to your local animal shelter or the American Cancer Society in Catherine Santini’s name.
