In Loving Memory

Cheryl Daley

Cheryl Daley, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished piano teacher, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in Indiana, Cheryl’s early life was filled with the tight-knit warmth of her hometown and a budding passion for music. Her life found a beautiful new melody when she met Donald Daley. The two fell in love, leading Cheryl to move to Illinois, where they built a vibrant, blended family and a lifetime of beautiful memories together.

Cheryl’s greatest joy was her family. She was a deeply loving mother to her son Charles, and daughter Karen. She was a fiercely supportive stepmother to her two stepdaughters Patricia and Kathleen. Her legacy of love, kindness, and patience lives on through them, as well as through her three grandchildren (Chip, Samantha, and Stephen) and six step-grandchildren (Zachary, Shannon, Lucas, Joshua, Griffin, and Brett), all of whom she adored unconditionally.

A gifted musician, Cheryl spent decades sharing her passion as a piano teacher. She didn't just teach her students how to read notes; she taught them how to find joy, confidence, and expression through music. Her home was constantly filled with song, laughter, and the gentle patience that made her an incredible educator and an even better matriarch.

She will be remembered for her grace, her unwavering devotion to Donald and her family, and the music she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, Cheryl will be cremated. To honor her vibrant spirit just as she wanted, her family will host a casual celebration of life rather than a traditional funeral. The gathering will take place at her daughter Karen’s house on the 4th of July, Cheryl’s absolute favorite holiday, with more details to come.
