In Loving Memory of Cindy Ann Maddux
August 28, 1946 – March 31, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cindy Ann Maddux, 78, of Norman, Oklahoma, who peacefully left us at home on March 31, 2025. Born in Buena Park, California, Cindy embodied warmth and resilience from the very start—qualities she carried through every chapter of her life.
A devoted mother and adoring grandmother, Cindy’s greatest pride and joy were her sons, Jason and Aaron, and her grandchildren, Morgan, April, and Ashton. To her, family was everything: she celebrated their triumphs, comforted them in sorrow, and held them close with a love as steady and nurturing as the California sun under which she was born.
Cindy’s hands and heart were never still. For years she crafted heat and air units at York International, always insisting on a job done right. In quieter moments, she found delight in collecting Beanie Babies, Pez dispensers, and thousands of aluminum tabs—small treasures that reflected her childlike wonder. A survivor who found strength in recovery, she leaned on music and poetry to heal, writing two songs from her own verses and sharing her softest truths through melody.
She and Ozzy shared 27 years of marriage that was both passionate and profound, a bond sealed forever by the lyrics of Phil Collins’ “Separate Lives”—words now engraved upon his headstone as a testament to their undying connection.
Cindy gave of herself without hesitation—her fierce loyalty, her infectious laughter, and her open heart touched all who knew her. We’ll honor her memory with a gentle balloon release, gathering the family she cherished most to share stories, laughter, and tears in her name.
Though Cindy may rest, her spirit lives on in every life she lifted, every song she sang, and every tender moment she created. She loved unconditionally, and for that love, we are forever grateful.
