Cumberland, Maryland - Claire Edith Owen, age 84, lifelong resident of Cumberland, MD and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born January 07, 1941, to Clarence and Sena Van Till (Van Till). Edith graduated from Cumberland Christian Schools. She married the love of her life, Marvin H Owen, on September 25, 1964, and were married for 57 years before Marv's passing on May 24, 2021. In addition to raising a family, Claire enjoyed golf and tennis in her younger years. She and Marv enjoyed traveling together in their RV in their golden years.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Michael A Owen; sisters Gertrude Hekman and Marjory Vander Schuur; as well as her brother Howard Van Till. She is survived by her niece Sherry Owen of Cumberland, MD.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 07, from 4 to 6 PM at Church at 917 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502. Internment will be at Cumberland Cemetery at 10 AM on Saturday, March 08, and is open to all friends and family. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 AM at Grace Memorial Community Church located at 917 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502.
