Darrell Eugene Akers, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. Darrell was born to Giles Homer Akers and Elsie Mae (Nutter) Akers on Saturday, June 30, 1945, in Fayetteville, West Virginia. He was the 11th child of 12 children. Processed him in death are his parents, all of of his siblings, his daughter Natasha Sue Akers, his granddaughter Makayla Marie Akers and some of his nieces and nephews. Darrell leaves behind his wife Belinda Marie (Michael) Akers whom he he loved for 52 years and his children Darrell, Melissa Akers, Tricia (Wayne Sherman) Akers, Phillip Akers and Michael (Julie) Akers. Darrell also leaves behind 12 grandchildren Angel, Abigail, Nicholas, Christina, Phillip Jr., Alexander, Hannah, Elizabeth, Thomas, Michael Jr., Tanner and Isaiah.
Darrell loved and done so many things things in life. He traveled many places. He spent time in the Marine Corps, stationed in San Diego, California. He enjoyed lifting weights and boxing. Darrell believed in helping others and he did share and give every chance he got. However, the best thing he done in his life was to share the word of God and to live for the Father.
