Deanna Jo Huston
In Loving Memory
With a deep and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Deanna Jo Huston. Deanna was born April 6,1959 to Don and Norma Jean (Shores) Pearce. She was 65 when she passed after a short battle with cancer. She had one sister, Pamela Pearce of Iowa. Deanna was preceded in death by both parents and her stepfather, William “Buck” Barnes.
Deanna married Reggie Cagle very early in life and he passed away quite young leaving her a widow. She then went on to marry John Huston of Macomb, IL with whom she shared two children, April and John C. Huston, both of Macomb. She also shared several stepchildren with John; T. Michael Huston of Springfield, IL., Micheal J Huston of New Jersey, Tracey Carter (Quarry) of Oakland, CA., Adam Huston of West Palm Beach, FL., and Sontae Massey of Springfield, IL. They divorced after many years of marriage and she then married Ron Huston of Macomb, IL. He preceded her in death leaving her a widow 12 years ago.
Deanna had many grandchildren whom she adored and doted on endlessly; Alexis and Avery Allen of Springfield, IL., Tamara, Isabel, De’Jauneya, Torrance and Noah Huston all of Macomb, IL. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Many looked to her as a mother figure and even called her Mom/Grandma out of love and respect. This was especially true of her niece Misty Gonzalez and her children Anaya and Phoenix.
Deanna was an amazing cook and often showed her love by cooking for large gatherings and even special family requests. She really enjoyed her time at her church, the Vineyard, as well as being a care giver to small children especially in her work as a para-professional at McArthur School. She also spent time as a CNA before finishing her Associates degree at Spoon River College. She then attended tax school where she found her passion as a tax preparer. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors, especially camping with her family. Deanna was the type of woman that would give you the shirt off her back and knew no strangers. She followed the teachings of Jesus to give unto others as you never know when you are entertaining angels unaware.
Deanna donated her earthly body to Genesis Whole Body Donation Foundation for educational and research purposes. She will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be announced in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
