In Loving Memory

Donald Paul Leroy Heckard Signor , lovingly known as Don, Donnie, and “Little Donnie,” passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 59, after a long battle with cancer.

Born on January 12, 1967, Don grew up in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and was residing in Duncannon at the time of his passing.

Don was a hard worker and a man deeply dedicated to his family. Over the years, he did a little bit of everything, working for Domino’s Pizza, a courier driver, a tow truck driver, and what many would call a property preservation wizard. No matter the job, Don was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to do whatever needed to be done.

More than anything, Don loved his family. He shared 32 years of marriage and 37 years together with the love of his life, his angel, Molly Heckard. He was a proud and loving father to Abigail Heckard and Elizabeth Knepp, and he loved his sons-in-law, Mathew Knepp and Dylan Welsh. He is also survived by his sister, Tara Taft, and brother-in-law, Casey Taft; his “brother from another,” Kai Winfield; his father-in-law, Theodore Chronister; his brothers-in-law and their wives, Ted and Diana Chronister and Jobe and Erica Chronister; his brothers-in-law, Mason Chronister and Adam Chronister; his sister-in-law and her husband, Shanny and Scott Essig; his sister-in-law, Amanda Chronister; and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Breana Buffington, Charlie Ewing, Chloe Ewing, Makayla Messick, Bradley Chronister, Jaxon Taft, Carson Taft, Logan Chronister, and Grace Heckard. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Blue, Cinnamon, Carol, and Dexter, his Furbabbies Hazel, Smokey, Harley and spooky, as well as many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donna Heckard and Donald signor; his mother-in-law, Carol Chronister; his brother, Cory Heckard; his sister-in-law, Tawna Heckard; his nephews, Zachary Heckard and Little Teddy Chronister; and his beloved dogs Sparky, Buddy, Cadet, and Jenny.

Don had a personality that was impossible to forget. He was stubborn, funny, generous, loud, hardworking, and fiercely loving. He would give you the shirt off his back and was the kind of person who loved people easily and fully. He loved to hunt, listen to music, and spend time watching television. He adored his family and his dogs — even when they annoyed the crap out of him. Those who knew him will remember his demeanor, his larger-than-life presence, and his ability to connect with and care for the people around him. As anyone who knew Don would say, he was truly a Donald — he always had good thoughts, even if he didn’t always know quite how to word them.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. EST at 57 Blacksnake Rd, Duncannon, PA 17020 Those wishing to send flowers or other expressions of sympathy are asked to please send anything to the Heckards at 1003 State Road, Duncannon, PA 17020.

While donations are not necessary, they are sincerely appreciated. Any contributions received will be divided among his three girls — his wife, Molly, and daughters, Abigail and Elizabeth — because making sure they are taken care of and okay is exactly what Don would have wanted.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Winfield Funeral Home for taking care of everything and helping in every way possible during this difficult time.

Don will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
