In Loving Memory

Gordon Cassius Lawrence, age 83, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sadly passed away on January 21, 2026.

Gordon was born on April 9, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Cassius and Marjorie Lawrence. He was an exceptionally intelligent and talented man with a deep curiosity about the world. Gordon took great pride in his work, especially during his time at Thunder Scientific, where he often spoke fondly of the projects he was part of and the accomplishments achieved there. Throughout his life, Gordon achieved many personal and professional milestones.

Gordon is survived by his two brothers, Robert (Bob) and Clay Lawrence, and his two sisters, Darla and Coletta. He leaves behind four children: sons Christopher and Scott, and daughters Yvonne and Amber. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren—Gabriel, Camille, Audrey, Bryce, Zach, Jessica, Joshua, Destiny, and Georgi—each of whom brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his former wife, Pamela, to whom he was married for many years. Though their marriage ended, they remained close friends and continued to care for and support one another throughout their lives.

Gordon had many hobbies and friendships. He loved visiting flea markets, buying or bartering for old items—anything he could tinker with or restore. He greatly cherished time spent with his grandchildren, especially picking up Camille, Audrey, and Bryce from school and treating them to McDonald’s. When they were sick, he would bring them M&Ms and other treats to lift their spirits. As his middle granddaughter grew older, Gordon especially loved listening to her read the Bible to him.

Gordon shared a special bond with his dog, Hannah, who was his constant companion and best friend. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and studying the night sky—astronomy being his favorite subject to research. An avid reader, Gordon had a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
