Gwendolyn Brewington Jenness

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Brewington Jenness, 65, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, peacefully in her sleep.
She was born on June 8, 1960, in Wilmington NC to the late Karon Brewington and the late Ila (Alice) Faye Patrick Brewington.
Gwen was fortunate to have many friends from her years living locally in the Port City. She was known for her vibrant and "spit fire" personality, her love for good times by a campfire with an oyster roast, as well as her green thumb and love for plants.
Gwen is survived by her daughters, Regina Marie Brewington, Gabrielle Brown, Jessica Haley Jenness and Jacquelyn Ann Greene. Her sons, Bryan Pridgen and the late Grant Brown
Gwen was the first of 5 siblings to meet our Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by Margie Faye Brewington Jacobs, Karen Evelyn Brewington Patrick, Richard Dean Brewington and Kenneth Wayne Brewington.
Gwen was a grandmother to 10 grandchildren. Bryan Coleman, Nathan Brewington and Henry Coleman (Regina Brewington). Henry & Allen McLauchlin, Luke & the late Joseph Hesse (Jessica Jenness). James & Jennessa Greene (Jacquelyn Greene) & Isabella Brown (Grant Brown)
Gwen had only one Great Grandchild, Kolten James Brewington.
Gwen had several Nieces and Nephews. Shawna, Andrea, Kaitlyn & Andrew (Margie). Candice, Derek, and the late Amanda (Karen). Christopher and the late Cory (Richard). Auntum and Rhonda (Kenneth). Jocelyn (J.Jenness) as well as a few great Nieces and Nephews. Jacob Spencer (Amanda). Jasmine, Kayla and the late Joseph (Candice)
A celebration of life for Gwen will be held this summer. More information will be announced closer to celebration date.
