Fort Bragg resident Howard R. Davis died April 25, 2008 at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, following a short illness. Born on March 5, 1932, in Portland, Ore., to Clarence and Beverly Davis, he was 75. Arrangements were made by Chapel by the Sea. Mr. Davis was honorably discharged from the military after serving in Korea from Sept. 28, 1949 to Oct. 2, 1952. After raising a family of six, he retired from Eureka Fisheries in 2001. He had a big heart and always helped out family, friends and strangers. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patsy A. Davis; by children, Rodney L. Davis and wife Yvonne of Fort Bragg, Karla D. Meyer and husband Russ of Redding, Calif, Chris H. Davis and wife Brooke of Santa Rosa, Donna L. Miyamura of Fort Bragg, Donald W. DePugh and wife Pam of Santa Rosa, Diane M. DePugh of Fernely, Nev.; sister, Barbara Wentzel of Fort Bragg; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial donations are suggested to Bethel Baptist Church, Highway 20, Fort Bragg.
