James Edward Killinger (93)
Born in Tennessee, James Edward Killinger passed away on February 28, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie G. Killinger, who passed in 2010.
James is lovingly remembered by his fiancée, Pauline Avent, of Myrtle Beach, SC. He had a son, Kevin Killinger of Whitsett, NC and daughter, Kim Panzer, of Mesa, AZ, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A proud patriot, James served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Korea. After 32 years of dedicated service at IBM, he retired and embraced his passion for golf, spending countless hours on the course with his cherished friends. Known for his sense of humor, James had a knack for always bringing a smile to those around him. Many people have fond memories of him.
As a child, James lived in an orphanage and continued to support them with annual donations. James was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Smith, who was called Sister Francis of the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary in Germany. He remained a steadfast supporter of the Sisterhood throughout his life
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ honor to the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary or York Place.
