Kelly Colleen Drake
In Loving Memory
Kelly C. (Fogarty) Drake, 60, passed away on January 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with frontotemporal dementia.
Born in Milwaukee, WI, Kelly was the beloved daughter of Sharon (Miller) Fogarty and William Fogarty of Sussex, WI. A proud graduate of Hamilton High School, Kelly went on to have a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicating her life to caring for others.
Even as her own health declined, Kelly’s selflessness never wavered. Unable to continue her work in healthcare, she remained committed to serving others, dedicating her time to the Meals-On-Wheels program through the Suffield Community Aid. Her warm, compassionate nature made her a source of comfort to those who needed it most.
Family was Kelly’s greatest joy. She adored her daughters, Ashley Drake, and Elizabeth Drake, and was deeply proud of their accomplishments. Whether attending horse shows, school events, or enjoying quiet evenings together with board games, reading, music, and TV, Kelly made every moment count with her family. Her love for her daughters was boundless.
Kelly was also deeply connected to her roots in Wisconsin. She loved visiting her family there, especially enjoying trips to the Wisconsin State Fair and indulging in sundaes at Culver’s. Her infectious laugh and genuine kindness made every experience with her memorable.
Kelly had a close-knit bond with her siblings, speaking with them daily. She shared a special connection with her brother, William Fogarty, often recalling fond memories of their road trip from Wisconsin to Massachusetts to celebrate Ashley’s college graduation. As her illness progressed, Kelly moved to California to live with her sister, Stacey Werning. There, she found joy in simple pleasures—dining out, taking walks in the sunshine, getting her nails done, and listening to music. Even in the face of adversity, Kelly remained a beacon of love and light.
Kelly leaves behind her daughters, Ashley Drake, and Elizabeth Drake; grandchildren, Harper Dudley, and Hudson Dudley; her brother, William Fogarty; sisters, Stacey (Fogarty) Werning and Deb (Fogarty) Uecker, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember her with love and affection. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Stan and Margaret Miller, and her paternal grandparents William and Theresa Fogarty.
Kelly’s legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
