Luann Kay (DeGroff) Wendel
July 2, 1943 – July 18, 2025
Luann Wendel, age 82, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. She was born in Blissfield, Michigan, to the late Russell and Francis DeGroff.
Luann worked at Sharon Manufacturing in Lambertville, MI, and later became known for her home-cooked meals at Sodbuster Saloon in Sylvania. She spent nearly 20 years managing Two Men and a Truck in Toledo, where she hired and led a team with pride and care.
She was a devoted mother of six and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life centered around family, friends, and making others feel cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Dennis and Leola, son Ryan Charles Wendel, and granddaughter Taylor Marie Wendel. Surviving are her sons: Scott (Dawn), Darren, Ross, Cory (Michelle), and Reed Wendel; siblings Greg and Kathy; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 4930 Flanders Rd, Sylvania, OH 43623, from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 12:00 noon, with a celebration of life luncheon to follow.
