It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Matthew Walp, at the age of 19, on August 9, 2025. Matthew was a bright and compassionate soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Born on July 20, 2006, Matthew’s infectious spirit and kindness were apparent from a young age. His love for his family, his friends, and his passions will be deeply missed. He was always there to lend a hand, to make others laugh, and to offer support to those in need. He had a rare ability to light up any room, and his presence will be missed more than words can express.
Matthew is survived by his loving mother, Beth; his devoted grandmother, Joyce; his cherished brother, Robert; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to hold him in their hearts. His loss leaves a profound emptiness, but the memories of his warmth, generosity, and humor will live on in those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to The Trevor Project, a cause close to Matthew’s heart, dedicated to supporting LGBTQ youth in crisis.
Matthew, you will forever be loved, and we will never forget you. Rest in peace.
