Nikola Naef, lovingly known as Niki, passed away on June 10, 2025, in California at the age of 73. Born on March 29, 1952, in California, Niki spent most of her life in the state she called home, surrounded by the people and places she loved.
Niki lived a full and vibrant life, rich in love, humor, and warmth. She spent many meaningful years working at Tower Records in Northern California, where music and community helped shape her world. Later, she dedicated herself to raising her three daughters—Michelle Gann, Breann Lockwood, and Jessica Wilkerson—who survive her and carry forward her spirit and strength.
After her third daughter was born, Niki returned to Orange County and continued working in various roles, including medical billing and food delivery services. Through every chapter of her life, she brought laughter, empathy, and a deep, unmistakable love to everyone around her.
Niki was known for her incredible memory—especially when it came to birthdays, anniversaries, and meaningful dates. She had a unique gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. She also found great joy in simple, beautiful things. She loved collecting seashells and admiring ocean animals, and was deeply moved by poetry, books, and music. These passions reflected her curiosity, her tenderness, and her appreciation for the world’s quiet wonders.
She will be profoundly missed by her three daughters, four grandchildren and all who knew and loved her.
