Patricia Ann Tomasin
In Loving Memory
Patricia Ann Tomasin, 79, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away on the morning of May 2, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on February 28, 1947, in Rhode Island, Pat lived a life defined by fierce generosity, unshakeable loyalty, and a sense of humor that could fill any room — and occasionally scandalize it.
Pat had a take-no-nonsense attitude and was never shy about speaking her mind. She was her children’s loudest and most steadfast champion, raising them with the deep conviction that they could accomplish anything they set their minds to. She instilled in them resilience, independence, and the courage to rely on their own two feet — lessons that were hard-won from her own life and passed on with intention and love.
Music was one of Pat’s great loves, and she passed that gift on freely. She introduced her children to soul, old-school country, and the magic of a great film soundtrack — from “Urban Cowboy” to “Harold and Maude” to “Dirty Dancing.” She bought any record her kids asked for without hesitation, and never worried much about the content, given that she herself had been known to cuss like a sailor for as long as anyone could remember.
Pat had a gift for hospitality that went far beyond family. Her home had a revolving door for anyone who needed a safe place to land or a second chance. Friends and loved ones joked affectionately that she was always “taking in strays” — not animals, but people — and she did so without a second thought, because that was simply who she was.
Her sense of humor was legendary and unapologetically that of a twelve-year-old boy. She loved practical jokes, toilet humor, and the kind of deep belly laughs that leave you doubled over with tears streaming down your face. Her pranks were elaborate, her timing was impeccable, and her audience always forgave her — eventually.
The last few years brought significant health challenges, and it was hard on those who loved her to watch such a vibrant spirit struggle. But she faced it the same way she faced everything — with stubbornness and grace in equal measure. She is now at peace, and free from pain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvle and Irene Hopper; her brother, Paul Hopper; and her sister, Elizabeth Lamberger.
Patricia is survived by her life partner, Martin F. Zeiman; her brothers, Tom Hopper (spouse Jean Hopper)and Mike Hopper (spouse Penny Hopper); her children, Jessica Tomasin (spouse Charlie Huguenard) and Jason Tomasin; her stepchildren, Michelle Neely, Amy Kraydich (spouse Joe Kraydich), Kristen Heider (spouse Bill Heider), and Martin G. Zeiman; her grandchildren, Arthur Roe, Kaitlyn Bruce (spouse Jordan Bruce), Kylie Quinn (spouse Adam Quinn), Calvin Kraydich, Joshua Santillo, Rylee Santillo, Olivia Zeiman, Jack Zeiman, and Aubrey Zeiman; her great-grandchildren, Marshall Quinn, Weston Quinn, Jordy Bruce, and Daisy Roe; Nieces: Shelley Lamberger, Debbie LaCosse (spouse Dan LaCosse); Nephews: Ryan Hopper (spouse Samantha Hopper), Justin Hopper, Brian Lamberger (spouse Teresa Lamberger), and her dog, Cooper.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
You were a legend, Pat. Loved beyond measure.
