In Loving Memory

Paula Mae Dube

1960-2026

Paula Mae Dube, 66, of Houlton, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply.

Paula was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a steady source of comfort to everyone who knew her. She shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Kenneth Dube, a love that stood as an example of commitment, strength, and deep companionship.

She was a wonderful mother to her children: Melissa Dube and Jeff of Caribou; Melinda Dube of Enfield; Amanda Toby and her husband, Lote, of Bridgewater; Michael Dube and his fiancée, Keilee, of Blaine; and Caleb Dube and his fiancée, Kathryn, of Houlton.

Her love extended just as fiercely to her grandchildren, Danielle, Jayden, Alex, Chauntelle, Rachelle, Abbiegail, Nishelle, Aleigha, Kyrn, Hudson, Brentley, and Brody, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Paisley, Benson, Waylon, Bristol, Bexley, and Hazel, who brought even more light and happiness into her life.

Paula was predeceased by her father, Alfred; her mother, Betty Lou; her stepfather, Arthur Keithan; her aunt, Lorraine O’Neill; her uncle, Bert O’Neill; her nephew, Christopher Orr; her brother-in-law, Bruce Rick; and her sister-in-law, Terri Bell.

She is survived by her sister, Christine Ricker of Presque Isle; her brother, James “Jim” Bell and his wife, Debbie, of Bangor; many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and adored so very much; and her best friend, Laura Boynton and her spouse, Tracy, of Mars Hill.

Paula had many passions throughout her life. She loved to sew, creating quilts, potholders, washcloths, and countless handmade pieces. If she could imagine it, she could create it. Every piece she made was one-of-a-kind, stitched together with love, care, and dedication. She often gifted her creations to those she loved, always wanting to bring comfort and warmth—especially through the many quilts she made so no one would ever be cold.

She also had a deep love for horses, growing up on her family farm where she learned to ride and care for them at a young age. Horses remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she treasured the memories made riding trails, through pastures, and in local parades.

Paula and her husband Kenny shared a love for car shows, traveling together and making countless memories along the way. Whether showing their vehicles or simply enjoying the experience, those trips brought her so much joy. More than any trophy, it was the memories they made together that meant the most to her.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—country music (she was a proud Reba fan), dancing, singing, shopping, and spending time playing games with family and friends. Holidays were especially important to her, and she always went above and beyond, making sure there was plenty of food and that everyone felt loved and welcome.

Paula truly cherished time spent with her best friend of 26 years, Laura Boynton. Together, they shared laughter, adventures, and an unbreakable bond.

She was the one her family turned to when life felt too heavy. She had a way of making everything feel okay — whether through her comforting words, her quiet strength, or simply her presence. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love created a home where everyone felt safe, welcomed, and deeply cared for.

Paula’s passing leaves a space that can never be filled, but her love will live on in the lives she shaped, the values she instilled, and the memories her family will carry forever.

From all of us, you leave behind a love that reaches to the heavens and back—“a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

A celebration of Paula’s life will be held on April 19th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Club, 235 Wiley Rd., Littleton, Maine. Family and friends are invited to attend. A potluck will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a favorite dish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her husband, Kenneth Dube.
