Richard P Emmons
In Loving Memory
On August 23, 2025, Richard Emmons, known by most as Dick, went to be with the Lord. He passed away peacefully with his wife, the love of his life, Shirley, by his side. Dick always knew how to make everyone smile and was quick with a joke. He could fix nearly anything broken or would at least try. He loved classic cars and trains, and could identify the make and model of any classic car he saw without a second thought.
Born in Peekskill, NY, Dick grew up in Cicero, NY. He married the love of his life, Shirley, on November 22, 1975, and they bought a home in Clay, NY, where they raised their three daughters. After retiring from Gaylord Brothers, Dick and Shirley moved to Franklin, PA, where they found peace, calm, and an overall love for the small town.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley; their three daughters, whom he loved dearly and was so proud of, Tabatha Cox, Tamara Mitchell (Dave), and Tanya Emmons (Dave); his grandchildren, whom he loved very much and often bragged about, Jeffrey Cox-Emmons (Brianna), Damion Mitchell (Rebecca), Angel Emmons, Dakotah Mitchell (Alyssa), Bridgette Steiler (Nicolas), Sarissa Mitchell (Anthony), Brandy Smith, Nevaeh Bunch, Cassandara Mitchell-Smith, and Chloe Cox; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Emmons Jr.; his mother, Gertrude Emmons; his sister, Sandra Centamore; his brother, Edward Emmons III; and his sister, Susan Craner.
Per his wishes, there will be no services; however, a celebration of life in New York will be held at a later time.
