It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Alkire, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on December 9, 2024, at his home. Bob fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past 18 months, surrounded by his family until the very end. He was 65 years old.
Born on December 24, 1958, Bob was known for his kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He was married to Lauri, the love of his life, in 1978, and together they shared 46 years of deep love, laughter, and memories. Their bond remained unshaken through life's challenges, a true testament to their enduring partnership.
Bob was a proud father to his three daughters—April, Nicki, and Bobbie—and a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His family was everything to him, and his legacy lives on through them.
Throughout his life, Bob was a man of integrity, always putting others before himself. He was also always the life of the party. His stories and sayings were legendary.
A private family service will be held to honor Bob's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, in memory of Bob's brave fight.
Bob's love for his family will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to guide and inspire all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
