Shirley Ferreira Hayes Sanchez, 84, passed away in Apex, North Carolina, on August 11, 2025, from complications related to COVID-19.
She was born on February 1, 1941, in Oakland, California, to Abel and Rosaria Ferreira. In 1958, she married Darrell Taft Hayes, and they had two children, Darrell Joseph and Stacy Lyn. In 1965, she married Anthony Arthur Sanchez, and together they had two children, Anthony Troy and Eric Jason.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Stacy Sanchez-Dorsey, and her son, Eric J. Sanchez, as well as four grandchildren: Tyler, Jonathan, Christian, and Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Rosaria; her husbands, Darrell Hayes and Anthony Sanchez; and her sons, Darrell Von Haas and Anthony Troy Sanchez.
